Holding puppies,Waiting list,& puppy deposits.

Welcome to my waiting list, deposit, and holding a puppy page.

First let me explain how I do holds on puppies...

If you want me to give you 24 hours to consider a puppy, you need to clearly tell me that you need 24 hours and to please not sell that puppy. I will hold a puppy for you once for 24 hours while you consider whether you want to commit. I don't hold puppies without agreeing beforehand.

I will sometimes have 50 or more people reach out to me each week. Some will talk to me for days or weeks and then completely ghost me like we'd never talked. Many reach out, ask questions and then never even look at or respond to my answers. People can be fickle. Because of this, I don't hold puppies while someone thinks about it unless it's been agreed on ahead of time. It's not fair to a puppy that could have found an incredible forever family while being held and then they missed out on having a great family, often for weeks or months longer.

I have had people get upset because they reached out about a puppy, didn't commit, and then someone else reached out and was ready to give that puppy a loving family and I placed him or her with them. Then the customer will reach back out and act like I did something wrong for not assuming that "I like this puppy", was a lifelong commitment. I get hundreds of messages from people telling me they like a puppy and want to think about it. Or talk to family about it and then I never hear from them again.

Please understand, I am absolutely willing to hold a puppy for you, but we must agree on it first. These puppies deserve to bond with forever families as soon as possible and honestly, it hurts sending them home. The longer we keep a puppy, the harder it is to let them go.

Thank you so much for understanding.

How my waiting list works....

If someone chooses to be added to my waiting list, it is a one-time fee. When I have a litter of puppies, I contact the customers on my waiting list in the order of waiting list fee received. I will never contact someone at the bottom of the list before I have contacted those at the top. You have my word on this!

If the people at the top of my waiting list choose not to purchase a puppy from that litter, I will go down the list until every puppy has been sold. If every puppy is not sold, I will then start contacting people who have left their information with me but have chosen not to be placed on my waiting list as they were still looking around.

if you are interested in being placed on the waiting list, please contact me at

degarmojdr@gmail.com or call or text me at 607-435-3658.

I do not put my waiting list online, to protect the privacy of those on it. I will not sell my waiting list to anyone.

How we do deposits on puppies....

Puppy deposits.

After you've picked your puppy, whether in person, through email, or by looking at the website and then contacting me, you will be asked to put a deposit down on your puppy.  Deposits on puppies are non-refundable unless your puppy was, God forbid, to die, in which case, I would either refund your deposit, or if you chose, you could transfer your deposit to another puppy.   This is not to be unkind; it is to weed out the people that put a deposit down on a puppy, then decide to continue shopping, find another puppy, and then decide to get their deposit back. Or the people who decide to put a deposit down on a puppy, wait till the puppy is 8 weeks old, and then change their mind. When someone does this, they leave me with a now 8-week-old puppy that doesn't have a forever family during a crucial time period in its life. This can often blemish the puppy, as other people see that the puppy was sold and now isn't and think something is wrong with it. Thus, marring a perfectly wonderful puppy so it has to wait for a furrever family due to the wishy washy nature of a human.
